Dental Bonding Agents

bondingagent.jpeg
Dr. Morris asks us:
According to my sales rep, I only need one bonding agent that will do everything I need. Of course my sales rep knows which one that is and the recommendation seems seems to change every year.

How many bonding systems do you have in your practice? Which ones and what do they do? Does anyone out there have only one bonding system and is that suitable for all your needs?

Dear Dr Morris:
we work mainly with 5 different bonding systems:
Tenure, adhese, syntac, Perma quick and One Step plus.
I do believe that you should attack the needs with specifics...
to cement a veneer or a full ceramic crown(made of phelspar ceramic) we use ultrabond so we use tenure bonding system
We use syntac when using variolink II for onlays or inlays(art glass, belleglass or adoro).
One step plus or perma quick for composite resins(also tenure if i choose a denmat resin)for bisco or ultradent resins.
I rarely use adhese, only when is a very deep preparation and i dont want to place any acid into the dentin.
when we do crowns (pfm or zirconia)we use unicem that is self etching or rely x luting so no bonding system needed.
I also use perma quick primer as a desensitation agent for cervical or cavity sensibility.
Hope this helps .
Cheers
