I have been using the Garrison rings very successfully. They are dependable, durable and can easily be tightened when they start wearing out. They have come out with a new generation of rings – the Composi-Tight 3D. This is supposed to allow you to restore larger Class II cavity preparations because of the contours of the plastic inserts on the tynes of the rings. Anybody tried this? Looks good but my old Garrison rings are still working just fine. Is this worth the expense of buying this new generation of rings? How does this compare to the V-Ring [Triodent]?

I have used both systems, and after trying both I am using now the v-ring because in my opinion is a superior concept and execution and allows for better results.(the wedges are also a pleassure to work with)
    Hope that helps

I have used the 3D system from Garrison as well. While it’s tricky to get the new rings on sometimes, especially in tight quarters, the contacts are amazing.
