Additional Information
Research Studies on ENDOCEM MTA, can be found here. The studies below are for ENDOCEM Zr
  • Tooth discoloration induced by calcium-silicate-based pulp-capping materials.
    Yun DA1, Park SJ1, Lee SR1, Min KS2. Eur J Dent. 2015 Apr-Jun;9(2):165-70.
EndocemZr which contains zirconium oxide as a radiopacifier showed less discoloration irrespective of blood contamination compared to ProRoot [PR], Endocem [EC].

  • Odontogenic effects of a fast-setting calcium-silicate cement containing zirconium oxide.
Kim KA1, Yang YM, Kwon YS, Hwang YC, Yu MK, Min KS. Dent Mater J. 2015 Aug 1;34(4):432-40.
The biocompatibility of EndocemZr was similar to that of ProRoot and Endocem on the basis of cell viability tests and cell morphological analysis. The mineralization nodule formation, expression of odontogenic-related markers, and reparative dentin formation of EndocemZr group was similar to those of other material groups. Our results suggest that EndocemZr has the potential to be used as an effective material for vital pulp therapy, similar to ProRoot and Endocem.

  • Color changes of teeth after treatment with various mineral trioxide aggregate-based materials: an ex vivo study.
    Kang SH1, Shin YS1, Lee HS1, Kim SO2, Shin Y3, Jung IY4, Song JS5. J Endod. 2015 May;41(5):737-41.
Distinct color changes were observed for discs made from ProRoot MTA and MTA Angelus, but no clear change was observed for those made from either ENDOCEM Zr or RetroMTA. In the tooth model, more distinct, time-dependent color changes were observed for teeth filled with ProRoot MTA and MTA Angelus than for those filled with ENDOCEM Zr and RetroMTA. Less discoloration was observed with ENDOCEM Zr and RetroMTA (which contain zirconium oxide) than with ProRoot MTA and MTA Angelus (which contain bismuth oxide) in both of the test models used.
