MOR Mini Dental Implant System

The MOR Implant System is a self-tapping, small diameter, one-piece implant, intended for long-term or transitional applications in the bone of the patient’s upper or lower arch. A very simple surgical procedure makes them quick and easy to use.

The MOR ® Mini Dental Implant is equivalent to the 3M TM /IMTEC   MDI ®. The 3M TM / IMTEC MDI’s drills and instrumentation may be used.

MOR® Mini Implant System Surgical Procedure

The MOR® Attachment Head portion of the implant will protrude through the tissue. Therefore, when plac-ing the MOR® Implants, drilling through the tissue, a tissue punch, or a small flap may be used.

The MOR® Drill is used to gently penetrate the tissue at each surgical site and to penetrate the cortical plate. The depth of the osteotomy, on average is one-third to one-half the length of the threaded part of the implant for both the 2.1mm and 2.4mm MOR® Implant. When placing the 3.0 mm MOR® Implants the 2 mm drill is used. The depth of the osteotomy is three-quarters to the full length of the threaded part of the implant, depending on the density of the bone. As an option, in very dense bone, the 2.7 mm drill may be used to enlarge the osteotomy.

Peel back the cover on the inner blister package and upright the titanium tube that contains the MOR® Implant.

Use the appropriate MOR® tool to deliver the implant from the package to the implant site and to begin hand driving the implant into the bone. The MOR®-A is packaged with a temp. cap which acts as a carrying tool and hand driver.

When torque resistance is encountered with the Insertion Tool, you may switch to the MOR® Wing Driver.

If the insertion cannot be completed using the appropriate MOR® hand tool or wing driver, the MOR® Latch Driver is placed into a surgical handpiece and engaged onto the square of the implant head. Drive the implant at slow speed (15-30 RPMs) with irrigation, and a torque setting no higher than 55 Ncm.

The final turn or two of the implant placement may be done by hand, using a torque wrench at a maximum value of 55 Ncm.

The MOR® Temporization Cap can be used to make a temporary crown on the MOR®-A. It can also be used as a base with which to create the final crown

A white block out spacer or a small piece of rubber dam, punched with a small hole, should be used to block out any exposed areas of the implant. Snap a Retaining Cap onto each implant.

Using a bur, prepare a recess in the denture over each Retaining Cap. The denture should not touch the Cap or it will not be seated properly on the tissue. Prime each recess with a thin coat of Stern Vantage Varnish LC and light cure.

Carefully add composite (EZ PickUp®) over the top and sides of the Cap. Place additional resin in the recesses in the overdenture and seat the prosthesis passively in the mouth. If the tissue is displaced it will make accurate seating of the attachments very difficult.

The o-ring used on the MOR® Retaining Cap is black.

Place a MOR® Impression Coping onto each implant and pick them up in an impression. Snap a MOR® Analog into each impression coping.
