Placement of 4 IDO-Biotech Implants in Anterior Mandible
This case is presented by Dr. Daniel Haghighi. The case involves a 63 year-old female patient that presented for placement of four dental implants into the anterior mandible to support a new future lower overdenture using resilient attachments. The patient had dentures previously placed by another office, but the patient complained of chewing problems, and a general lack of satisfaction with the current
prosthesis both esthetically and prosthetically. After a CBCT and soft tissue assessment it was determined that an alveolectomy would be required. Piezosurgery was used for the alveolectomy. Piezo surgery incisions, as compared to standard rotary instruments, have been shown to heal faster, are more precise, and are safer when working in and around soft tissue. (Note: We now offer a wide range of Piezosurgery instruments that are compatible with Mectron). Implants were placed with the new IDO-Biotech system, which features an easy to follow drill sequence. Finally, the site was sutured using a Monocryl suture, which is the brand equivalent of our generic PGCL suture. If you would like information on the IDO-Biotech implant system, please contact us.
